The Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) has appointed Gopakumar R. Nair as its secretary general, effective October 1, 2026. Nair joined AAAI in August and has been undergoing an induction into the association's operations, systems and processes. He succeeds Sudesh Kapoor, who has led the AAAI Secretariat for nearly two decades. Kapoor will continue with AAAI as Senior Advisor and support the transition over the coming months. Nair brings over 35 years of experience in the advertising and media industry. His career includes 21 years with WPP/GroupM and eight years with Madison, where he held senior responsibilities in commercial operations and finance.
